Thank you for having me Chloe!!! Honored to be paired with one of the world's greatest condiments. And I'm now obsessed with those vintage mustard pots!!!!!

Speaking of Bucatini, they sell that Edmond Fallot mustard in this incredible gold tin pail that is 100% worth keeping forever — mine sits proudly displayed on a shelf in my dining room. Worth tracking down for the design of it alone!

I didn't get through the whole article, but in case it wasn't mentioned, there is a Mustard Museum in Middleton, Wisconsin I think you'd like.

Amora is a brand of French condiments that packages its mustard in juice glasses with cartoon characters. You can get it in larger jars but why would you.

I just looked this up and those glasses are so cute! I love that they still do that today when it seems so many brands have stopped designing their packaging to have a second life like that

In fact « verre à moutarde » or mustard glass is an unofficial French unit of measure. Yeah super cute. I still buy my mustard when in France that way.

There are lots of companies that each make many varieties of mustard. I’ve been playing with them for over 50 years. Maille makes maybe 20-30, Fauchon perhaps a few more. Their storefronts in Paris will carry mustards—among other condiments—not available in the US, so yes, a trip is definitely indicated. Fallot likewise has a number of flavors, perhaps the most interesting being heavily saffron. But their (and Maille’s and Fauchon’s) green versions are also excellent.

I haven’t tried the sweet mustards you cited, but get your hands on a jar of Savora and you’ll never go back.

It’s interesting that what gives “ball park” mustard its flavor and color isn’t mustard at all: it’s turmeric. And a lot of it. And speaking of French’s mustard, if there’s an Aldi’s near you, grab a squeeze bottle of their yellow mustard. To my taste buds, it’s better than F’s, and costs about half as much.

You missed Hot Chinese Mustard, which is stronger than Colman’s. Hits you right between the eyes. Loved it with pupus at Trader Vic’s

The mustard in the stein is one of my favorite mustards. I usually find it at World Market. I don’t know how to describe why it’s my favorite but I would be lying if I did t say the container itself didn’t play a part!

if two products are ever tied as far as what's inside the container, the one with the better container will always win out for me!

I fell in love with mustard when I lived in Germany for 4 years. I actually brought a case of it home with me and it lasted me just over a year. It is so good.

Tried to bring hot sauce back through our checked luggage from Mexico. TSA confiscated it, because they thought it *could be* explosives. Which, come to think of it...

Have you visited the Mustard Museum in Middleton, WI (suburb of Madison)? They are amazing. You definitely need a Poupon U. sweatshirt!! Also, in St. Barts, we got a Dijon that came in a Disney Cinderella glass (jar which became a juice glass after finishing the mustard). It's so cool!

Two things:

I have never been able to shake the image in Alice in Wonderland of them suggesting that mustard comes from mustard mine. If it doesn't stand to reason, it at least stands to poetry.

I used to get debilitating leg and hand cramps. My acupuncturist recommended eating a spoonful of mustard. I've never found a brand that didn't work INSTANTLY. Every time. Makes no sense and is probably a gateway drug to decidedly quacky treatments for more serious maladies, so be warned.

I believe it, plants can be powerful and ultimately that's what mustard in a jar is!
